Stop the Attack on our Public Schools

Hosted by Support Our Schools and many other pro-public education advocacy groups including . Historically, “SOS” is a distress signal sent in a moment of crisis. And that’s precisely where we are today! Legislators at every level of government are working to defund and dismantle public education.

The Attack on Public Education is very real here in the state of Florida. We have all seen the cuts to school district budgets as a result of vouchers, with 70% of vouchers going to private school students who were already in private schools. The Florida legislature has taken a hands-off stance when it comes to accountability and transparency after to protect public education funding. as the President and Congress have already begun to strip federal funding from our public schools. In the world’s most prosperous nation, access to quality education is becoming a choice between a public school with poorly paid teachers, homeschooling, or a voucher-funded private school without any regulatory oversight, making school choice… a hard choice.

Support Our Schools is hosting a full-day forum to explore solutions and build a battle plan to fight the defunding of public education in our county and nationwide. Nationally acclaimed author and podcast host Jennifer Berkshire will inspire us with national stories where parents are winning the battle. Sue Woltanski aka Accountabaloney, will bring us all up to speed on what’s happening on the public education front in the state of Florida.
